FC 27 Star Performers: Six Cards, a PlayStyles Lab, and My Weekend Gone
FC 27 Star Performers adds six UEFA cards, led by 91-rated Lamine Yamal, with PlayStyles Lab upgrades.
I did the most responsible thing possible when FC 27 dropped its first UEFA Star Performers promo: I ignored my adult responsibilities and stared at six new cards like a raccoon staring at a shiny bin. 😅

Released on 17 October 2026, this Ultimate Team promotion rewards outstanding performances in UEFA club competitions. That means the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Women's Champions League. It is not Team of the Week wearing a fancy European scarf. It is a specific midweek-European-fixtures thing. And because EA loves a plot twist, the first six Star Performers cards arrive without a PlayStyle+ but are eligible for the PlayStyles Lab. Yes, my special card has homework. 📚
I am not saying I built my whole weekend around a 91-rated winger, but my coffee mug says otherwise. Here is the first selection, and yes, Lamine Yamal is the headliner. Because of course he is.
| Player | Rating | Position | What I noticed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lamine Yamal | 91 | RW | 94 Dribbling, 89 Passing, 87 Pace, 85 Shooting, five-star skills, three-star weak foot |
| Désiré Doué | 87 | RW | 91 Dribbling, 85 Pace, 83 Shooting, 80 Passing, 81 Physical, five-star skills, four-star weak foot |
| Bradley Barcola | 86 | LW | 93 Pace, 80 Shooting, 79 Passing, 85 Dribbling |
| Alphadjo Cissé | 85 | CAM | 87 Pace, 84 Shooting, 82 Passing, 89 Dribbling |
| Noah Sadiki | 85 | CDM | 84 Pace, 80 Passing, 85 Dribbling, 80 Defending, 80 Physical |
| Maarten Vandevoordt | 85 | GK | 87 Diving, 84 Handling, 89 Kicking, 85 Reflexes, 83 Positioning |
A quick goalkeeper note: Vandevoordt's speed shows as 0 in the database, but that is a display value. Please do not sprint him upfield and blame me. 🧤
The Yamal card is the shiny one. A 91-rated RW with 94 Dribbling is exactly the sort of card that makes me believe I can dribble past three defenders, even though I usually lose the ball to the first one. His 89 Passing and five-star skill moves make him ideal for players who like wide creators, inverted runs and that little pause before a through ball. Doué is the versatile attacker with 91 Dribbling and 81 Physical. Barcola is the speed merchant: 93 Pace, direct runs, and a personal invitation to abuse through balls. Cissé looks like a fun CAM with 89 Dribbling and 84 Shooting. Sadiki is the balanced CDM who can win the ball and pass it forward without tripping over his own feet. And Vandevoordt is the lone goalkeeper, which feels lonely, but someone has to guard the net. 🥅
The defining feature is the PlayStyles Lab. EA SPORTS has confirmed that Star Performers are the first PlayStyles Lab-eligible Player Items in FC 27. The initial cards do not include a PlayStyle+, so you visit the PlayStyles Lab in Evolutions to add one. Here is my very sophisticated process:
-
Open Ultimate Team. ✅
-
Go to Evolutions. ✅
-
Find the PlayStyles Lab. ✅
-
Select an eligible Star Performer item. ✅
-
Review the available PlayStyle+ options and requirements. ✅
-
Complete the steps. ✅
-
Realise I spent more time reading upgrade requirements than doing my actual job. 😬
The right PlayStyle+ depends on the card. Yamal, Doué and Barcola probably want something that boosts dribbling, shooting or attacking movement. Cissé may benefit from a CAM-friendly upgrade. Sadiki could use a defensive or passing-related boost. Vandevoordt needs goalkeeper-specific options. But not every PlayStyle+ is available for every card, so check the lab. I know, checking things is annoying. Do it anyway.
The cards also have regular PlayStyles. Yamal has Finesse Shot, Incisive Pass, Rapid and Technical. Doué has Low Driven Shot, Game Changer, Inventive and First Touch. Barcola has Finesse Shot, Low Driven Shot, Game Changer and First Touch. Cissé has Finesse Shot, Precision Header and Technical. Sadiki has Acrobatic, Jockey and Relentless. Vandevoordt has Cross Claimer, Far Throw and Footwork. Those are not the PlayStyle+ upgrades. They are the base flavours. The lab is the spicy sauce you add later. 🌶️
Getting the cards works the usual way: eligible Ultimate Team packs and, if they are tradeable, the Transfer Market. Opening a pack does not guarantee a Star Performer unless the pack description says so. I know this because I once opened packs expecting a guaranteed hero and received a reality check instead. Tradeable cards may vary in price based on availability, ratings, attributes and demand. The PlayStyles Lab eligibility might make some cards more desirable, because a custom PlayStyle+ can fit your squad better than a pre-assigned one.
One thing I appreciate: this is not Future Stars. Future Stars celebrates young talent and has its own domestic-league upgrade system. Star Performers celebrates UEFA club competition performances. They overlap in the schedule, but they are different promotions. Do not mix up the requirements. I nearly did, and my squad builder gave me a disappointed look. 😂
It is also not Team of the Week. TOTW covers a wider range of football. Star Performers focuses on UEFA club competitions and adds the PlayStyles Lab twist. The first selection was revealed after midweek UEFA fixtures in October 2026, and the promotion launched during Future Stars Week 2. EA has not confirmed a dedicated Star Performers SBC or Objective reward, and there is no confirmed automatic overall rating upgrade system for these six cards. The confirmed upgrade feature is the PlayStyle+ customisation through the PlayStyles Lab. So if you see someone claiming these cards will automatically grow after every European match, ask for proof. Then ask again. Then hide your coins.
My plan? Grab a Star Performer if the price is sane, add a PlayStyle+ that suits my chaotic attacking style, and pretend I am a tactical genius. My coin balance is already crying, but at least the cards look good. ⚽💸
